Introduction
Defense from Illusion
An excellent contemporary Serbian poet tells what he realized at the age of seventy: ”Poetry is defense from illusion. From the illusion of politics, everyday babbling, from imprisonment.” Creating a geopoetic magazine in a turbulent time such as ours can be a kind of applied literature and protection from illusion.
Just like that, defending ourselves from illusion, both the electronic-hologram and the socio-pathological, we worked on this new issue. We visited a seventy-five-year-old on the other bank of the Sava, New Belgrade, and went through its memories. We made a pilgrimage to the Monastery of Ozren in Srpska, mark of King Dragutin. We looked for the image of Mexico in Fuentes’ buried mirror. We made a puzzle of the short history of Gallipoli Serbs, Surguns from Srem, half a millennium after their forced exile. We observed great anniversaries of Miloš Crnjanski, Desanka Maksimović, Nadežda Petrović… We collected a lot that can be used for refuting epochal darkness.
Now it’s your turn.
